Phone Towers Working

Standing tall 100m (330ft) in the air, cell phone towers litter our landscapes. They are vital for receiving and transmitting signals for mobile phone. Many different operators will share a particular tower and emit signals at varying frequency. This will determine which type of phone can pick up the signal and which cannot, because phones are capable of receiving specific types of frequency. It's just like a Wireless Router at home  which allows devices with a wireless signal detector to connect to the router and ultimately the internet. In essence, mobile internet works in the same way. Mobile phone towers act like giant wireless routers, emitting a signal that can be received by your mobile phone. Your phone will only connect only when it is within a specific range of this tower, usually about 48km (30mi). Multiple towers are spread out by different cellular companies and each emits a signal in an area known as a ‘cell’. As you travel along, you move from one cell to the next and thus receive a signal from different mobile towers located at different locations. Now a days, 4th Generation Mobile Technology is available for mobile users which has great speed for data and voice transmission before we had 3G Technology which is still new for some non-developing countries. At the start GSM band is used for mobile communication. Phone towers are changed as the technology is developing, a time has come when all the cellular companies are providing satellite communication and there will be no phone towers.
