For Using iPhone as an Modem
iPhone 3G or later can be used as a modem to connect. iPhone can be connected to your computer via Dock Connector to USB Cable, or making a Bluetooth connection.
For Configuration:
Step 1: In iPhone Settings, choose "General and goto; Network and then goto; Internet Tethering".
Step 2: Switch On by Sliding the Internet Tethering.
Step 3: Connect your iPhone with computer either by Bluetooth or USB Data Cable.
Connecting through USB :-
You have to Connect your computer to iPhone by using the Dock Connector to USB Cable. Open up your computer’s Control Panel and then goto Network connections/Network and sharing Centre, select iPhone. If you are using Mac, a pop-up message "A new network device detected" appears during the first time when you connect. Open Network connections/Network and Sharing centre, and configure the network settings for your iPhone and then click Apply. If you are using PC, then use the Network Control Panel/Network and Sharing Centre the iPhone connection configuration settings.
Connecting through Bluetooth :-
Step 1: In your iPhone, tap "Settings and tap General and then select Bluetooth by sliding bluetooth option to ON state.
Note: You can also consult you iPhone manual for pairing your computer and iPhone.
Step 2: In your computer, goto Control Panel and then click Hardware and Devices. Click on Bluetooth Devices, then Add and your computer will search for available Bluetooth devices in range and provides you a list of available devices.
Step 3: Click iPhone in the available devices, you can see a Pin Code on your computer screen which has to be entered in your iPhone for making a successful pair connection.
You can Monitor the data usage of your cellular network : In iPhone Settings, tap "General and goto Usage".
