Canada improves the visa processing of international students

*Good news for people who intend to go on Study Visa to Canada* - *IRCC improves the processing of student applications from China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines* - 8 June 2018.

IRCC today announces the *Student Direct Stream (SDS)*

Quick facts
Students applying for SDS must first be accepted at a Canadian learning institution that is designated to host international students. In addition, they must satisfy key criteria, such as submitting proof upfront of:

1) tuition payment for the first year of study at a designated learning institution in Canada,
2) purchase of a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $10,000,
3) completion of an upfront medical examination,
4) a qualifying score of at least 6 overall with minimum 6  in each module for English (IELTS), or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens score of 7 for French (TEF), or graduation from a Canadian-curriculum high school.

Process:
1) Get letter of admission from University/ college
2) Get Investment certificate
3) Apply online
4) IRCC gives Letter of Introduction & Visitor Visa
5) After landing, Immigration officer will issue Study Visa/Permit.

How long will it take for your SDS application to be processed?
For SDS study permit applications, the *processing time will be 45 days or less*.
