Telenor has decided to entered in
a healthcare sector by launching a service named TONIC. It is simply a basic
medical information service. Telenor has launched this service in Bangladesh . The
core purpose behind this service is the adoption of mobile devices for basic
health facilities. In developing countries like Pakistan , Bangladesh etc, lack of
medical facilities is not a new story.
“There’s a great opportunity in
the digital health space,” Sajidur Rahman, CEO of Telenor Health, which
runs Tonic.
Google is also providing health
services in India, Brazil etc. Then why TONIC is special? This service has some
unique features over Google and other digital health care providers. They have dedicated
doctors that can advice you immediately in many simple cases. There is a cash
benefit program with cash back for certain medical expenses. There are also
many discount offers.
Telenor is already offering many
fabulous services like helping agriculture, mobile banking etc. Now, there is a
need that such services should also be initiated in other developing countries
like Pakistan ,
where Telenor customers are already in good numbers. No doubt, Telenor has
taken a great initiative and will be well appreciated in other markets too.
